Our Practice staff have worked extremely hard over recent months to ensure that we have adapted to Covid restrictions and implement new ways of working to ensure the safety of our patients and staff.
Portland Medical Practice and The Hurlford Clinic continue to provide a service to our patients and have worked tirelessly throughout the pandemic to do so following guidance issued by the Scottish Government and NHS Ayrshire and Arran.
Despite this, our staff have been subjected to an increase in aggressive behaviour directed towards them, verbal abuse and derogatory comments on a daily basis.
At Portland Medical Practice and The Hurlford Clinic we operate and follow NHS Ayrshire & Arran’s Zero Tolerance Policy and the Practice adheres to our Unacceptable Actions Policy.
Anyone who breaches either of these policies will receive a warning letter in the first instance, should the breach be severe patient registration will be reviewed by the GP Partners and Practice Manager with removal from the practice list an option depending on severity of the breach. For non registered patients who breach these policies, you will be asked not to telephone or make contact with the practice again.
Our staff are here to be treated with respect and deserve the right to feel safe and secure within their place of work.
